Field Inspection Vane Tester

The Royal Eijkelkamp Field Inspection Vane Tester can measure the maximum shear force applicable to soil. Measurements can be made in the field — on the surface, in profile pits, or at the bottom of boreholes — or on samples in the laboratory.
The measured shear stress is read via a clearly legible scale ring. In soft soils, it is not necessary to drill a borehole first: a dummy vane can be used in such cases to determine the friction on the extension rods.
