This low-cost submersible pump set includes Gigant and Booster pumps, and is suitable for monitoring wells. Both Gigant and Booster pumps are compact centrifugal models with surprisingly powerful motors, allowing them to fit into narrow monitoring wells of 40 mm. The Gigant model (12.12.06) is fitted with a bottom filter, while the Booster model (12.12.08) is suited for in-line installation using 10×12- or 12×16-millimetre tubing.
The Gigant pump can push water to a height of 10 metres. Booster pumps have the same capacity and can be mounted above a Gigant pump to increase pressure to 20, 30, or more metres. For purging new sampling filters, connecting the pumps to the 12 VDC peristaltic-pump regulator allows you to set a reduced speed. This also enables sampling, since the regulator can power up to two pumps simultaneously from depths of approximately 12 metres.
The submersible pump set’s Giant and Booster low cost allows for single-use deployment, reducing the risk of cross-contamination. The pumps are made from non-toxic ABS plastic and fitted with stainless steel impellers.
