These HDPE filter pipes have 0.3mm slits and come in a variety of sizes; they also are available with a prefabricated filter pack, with sand and filter gauze already attached.
HDPE filter pipes are suitable for use in contaminated locations because they are resistant to aromatic and chlorinated solvents. However, they are permeable to these substances, which can pose a problem if groundwater quality is being measured in a deep aquifer is under under highly contaminated soil. HDPE does not contaminate the soil or water and is much cheaper than PTFE.
