The Van Veen grab is used for sampling disturbed sediment and is available in four different sizes: 0.5 litres, 2 litres, 6 litres and 12 litres. This device is operated manually using a rope or cable to lower the sampler for the smaller versions and a davit or small crane for the larger versions.
You can easily collect samples at the bottom of lakes and rivers with the Van Veen grab. Simply open the jaws and take a ‘grab’ when reaching the bottom. When hoisting the rope up again, the jaws will shut tight, and the sample is taken which will give you a fast indication of the sediment type.
The stainless-steel construction ensures the grab is strong and of high quality.
